Kat Robinson, a Realtor in North County San Diego, was starting her own Real Estate division. Kat had a precise vision for her logo in her head, however felt unable to execute accurately. As a designer, the role is to take the vision and create the reality. The vision: Greek pattern preferably in a circle, blue and yellow color palette, emphasis on the letters 'KRT' without using the terms 'Realtor' or 'Real Estate'.
THE PROCESS: CREATE A ROUND OF COMPS TO HELP THE CLIENT VISUALIZE THE DIRECTION. PROVIDE MULTIPLE STYLES AND COLOR COMBINATIONS TO CHOOSE FROM THEN WORK OFF OF THE INITIAL CHOICE(S). FORTUNATELY, THE CLIENT LOVED THE FONT CHOICE AND TREATMENT, HOWEVER, FELT OVERWHELMED WITH THE COLOR OPTIONS. COMPS 'D' & 'E' WERE CHOSEN TO MOVE FORWARD TO THE NEXT STEP, THE COLOR PALETTE.
ALONG WITH THE DESIGN PROCESS COMES THE UNAVOIDABLE DISCUSSION OF COST. MOST OF THE TIME, CLIENTS VISUALIZE MULTIPLE COLORS OR IMAGERY, THEN FACED WITH THE DECISION OF COST WITH PRINTING. THE ROLE OF THE DESIGNER IS TO ENCOURAGE THAT FEWER COLORS WILL NOT EQUATE TO AN UNWANTED OUTCOME. CONFIDENTLY ENSURING THE DESIGN WILL PORTRAY A MORE STRUCTURED PROFESSIONAL LOOK TO THE MESSAGE ADVERTISED.
THE FINAL RESULT ENTHUSIASTICALLY CHOSEN BY THE CLIENT.
