Volunteer Logo Design / Branding for a non-profit organization, Helping Hugs, set to launch spring/summer 2019. Their goal is to create a safe haven allowing open discussion and provide relief to those experiencing isolation brought on by anxiety.  Referred by a friend of a friend, I offered my services to create the brand identity and also kickstart my networking in my new home. Currently the staff Artist / Designer for the organization.
THE PROCESS: MY GOAL WAS TO CREATE IMAGERY THAT HAD MOVEMENT WITH STRONG INTERACTION, SIMILAR TO THE POSITIVE EMBRACE OF A HUG, WHILE INCORPORATING A HEART TO VISUALLY SHOWCASE THE MOTIVE OF THE ORGANIZATION. USING CALMING COLOR THEMES TO COMMUNICATE SENSITIVITY AND COMPASSION.
THE CLIENT LOVED THE INITIAL DIRECTION OF THE FIRST ROUND COMPS AND SPECIFICALLY CHOSE TO PROCEED WITH OPTION D. I WANTED TO FINESSE THE DESIGN SOME BY ROUNDING OUT THE ENDS OF THE ARMS TO GIVE A SOFTER FEEL WHILE PROVIDING OPTIONS OF HOW THE TWO EMBRACED WITH DIFFERENT ARM POSTURES.
FROM THERE, OPTION B OF THE SECOND ROUND WAS CHOSEN AND I WAS PROVIDED SOME DIRECTION ON FONT CHOICE. THE CLIENT TOOK A LIKING TO MY SANS SERIF APPROACH WANTING TO SEE BOLDER TYPEFACE OPTIONS WITH MORE KERNING, ALONG WITH CONTRASTING PURPLES. FROM THE COMPS PROVIDED, THIS WAS THE COLOR THEME AND FONT CHOICE THEY WANTED TO PROCEED WITH.
FINAL RESULT CHOSEN BY THE CLIENT.
STATIONARY MOCK-UP TO PROVIDE VISUALS OF THE LOGO ACROSS DIFFERENT MEDIA AND TO SPARK SOME EXCITEMENT.
